"Noah," grading, spoilers - LOL - review

I saw the film Noah over the weekend. I'll give it a B+ if only for the outstanding acting by Russell Crowe and Hermione Granger [Potter] aka Emma Watson.

Based on the material they had to work with - they did a good job. One thing I found amusing about the film is how they try to, 'clean up,' some of the more absurd parts of the biblical story [ironically a complaint some Christians have with the film] with for example how could one man and his family build this huge boat.

The film solves this problem by having God punishing helpful angels of humankind by turning them into rock creatures who were the muscle behind building the boat.

Also, the creation story told by Noah to his family cleans up the 7 actual days by making them 6 days that are strected over millions of years.

Also the film glosses over some of the more morally disturbing aspects of the biblical account of the Noah story e.g. Noah and his children would have had to enter into incestuous relationships to repopulate the planet.

^^^ I did not see that. I'd argue that Noah deserves to be in the sci-fi and fantasy forum [wink], but a moderator can shut this down. Thanks.
