Total War: Rome 2

So, yeah, I don't understand all the hate it is getting. Sure, there were many bugs on release, but most of them have been fixed now.

At the same time, this is definitely the least good Total War game. I'd give it 6.8 out of 10, which is low considering the high standards of the series. There are still many bugs left.

"The last good Total War game" is probably the reason for the hate.

I agree, but it's not a horrible game. It may be the worst Total War game, but it's still an okay game.

Re: Total War: Rome 2

I used to enjoy the Total War games, but I lost interest after Empire. I realised that I was just auto-resolving most of the battles as they were getting repetitive, and the strategic gameplay was really basic compared to other strategy games, so I haven't bothered with the series since. In my opinion, Creative Assembly should go back to the drawing board and radically revamp the series to make the strategic gameplay more meaningful, but they seem to be forced by Sega to churn out games so often that they can't take the time to truly do that. From what I've read about Rome 2, they appear to have done the opposite, making the strategic layer more simplistic.

Empire Total War, Medieval Total War 1&2 and Rome Total War 1 imo are the best Total War games.

I really want to give Rome II a shot but I've heard so many negative things that I just haven't bothered. When I need my Total War fix I just break out Empire Total War or Shogun II.

Luckily for me, it won't run on my computer, so I don't have to worry about it

Empire is my favourite one. Although I'd say Medieval 2 and Rome 1 are equally good.

Rome 2 is definitely worth playing in it's present state, although it isn't perfect yet. There are still a few problems left.
