I've read that they were planning to go 7 to 8 seasons.

Dunno where you heard that. All I know is that soon before Star Wars: The Clone Wars began, it was announced that George Lucas wanted to make at least "100 episodes". I think that quote is still up on Wikipedia to this day.

First they said 100... then towards the end they said 7-8 years... but the Season Six episodes clearly indicate they were heading towards the end so I guess it was scaled back to 6-7.

I'd read that too, could mean just the momentum of the writers and that they had outlines or treatments of future seasons, even if the possibility of doing them was remote.

Tim ####ing Curry as Palpatine?

Just finishing off episode 13.

The first four were incredibly strong as they lampooned the Manchurian Candidate.

I used to sleep better when I thought Jar Jar was a virgin.

Sounds like Lucas when he thought the original trilogy was going to be three parts....then six parts....then nine parts....then 12(?)...then....

Re: Star Wars The Clone Wars Season Six

A 100 episodes is desired for syndication.

Although with Friends in syndication they've added another 2 seasons called "Friends: The Joey Years" since Joey as a stand alone series fell considerably short of 100 episodes.

Yeah, not too many people were keen on Joey, I think...lol

Re: Star Wars The Clone Wars Season Six

TOS was very lucky that syndicators in 1970 took a chance on carrying reruns of the then-recently cancelled series. With just 79 episodes to cycle over and over again for who knows how long ("The Cage" wouldn't even be edited and available for adding to syndicated or even cable episode packages for a couple more decades) they took a bit of a gamble on having enough content, but it was close enough to 100 and the original Trek's demographic numbers at the time of NBC's cancellation were strong and impressive enough that they knew they'd get a strong and loyal audience if they targeted and marketed the show just right.

Even "The Prisoner," with its 17 episodes, gets recurring play on current channels.

Re: Star Wars The Clone Wars Season Six

This is true.

Sometimes a short-lived show's cult status is so powerful and the fans are so rabid that channels can't help but carry that handful of existing episodes as part of its lineup because of guaranteed eyeballs on the screen.
