50th Anniversary project

In 2006, I created this image in celebration of TNG's 20th anniversary:
(<Click for bigger)

I've thought for several years now that I should create something similar for Trek's 50th, but I've gone with a different simplified style:

So far, I've compiled a list of *well* over 50 notable and distinctive species in all the series and movies. What I mean by distinctive is that they are easily identified in a simplified form. For example: Betazoids and Iotians don't qualify because they don't look much if any different from Humans, but Bajorans and Vulcan do qualify. I already created a thread in General Trek to help me see if I happened to miss any important ones, but now I'm moving this here. I've already done the first 25, and you can see a sample above. I'm only doing 50 because, well, 50 years - 50 species!

I suppose at this point I'm just looking to see if anyone has any *good* reasons why some of the top 50 should be changed. Plus comments on the artwork!

The list:

Definitely using:
1 Andorian TOS
2 Bajoran DS9
3 Bolian TNG
4 Borg TNG
5 Caitian TAS
6 Cardassian DS9
7 Cheron (Bele) TOS
8 Cheron (Lokai) TOS (Yes, technically same as above, but it works.)
9 Edosian (Arex) TAS
10 Ferengi TNG
11 Gorn TOS
12 Human ALL
13 Klingon TOS
14 Mugato TOS
15 Orion TOS
16 Pakled TNG
17 Q TNG (Not different from humans, but he'll be recognizable.)
18 Romulan TOS
19 Romulan (Nero) ALT (The tattoo looked cool.)
20 Soong-type android TNG
21 Tellarite TOS
22 Tholian TOS
23 Tribble TOS (Only non-sapient on the list, because tribbles!)
24 Trill DS9
25 Vulcan TOS
26 Denobulan ENT
27 Efrosian Movies
28 Jem'Hadar DS9
29 Lurian (Morn) DS9
30 Planet Forbidden! Movies
31 Talaxian VOY
32 Tamarian TNG
33 Vorta DS9

Probably using:
34 Benzite TNG
35 Hirogen VOY
36 Kazon VOY
37 Keenser ALT
38 Nausicaan TNG
39 Nibiran ALT
40 Reman Movies
41 Salt vampire TOS
42 Species 8472 VOY
43 Talosian TOS
44 Voth VOY
45 Xindi Aquatic ENT
46 Xindi Arboreal ENT
47 Xindi Insectoid ENT
48 Xindi Primate ENT
49 Xindi Reptilian ENT
50 Zakdorn TNG

Maybe, but would have to switch with one in previous section:
51 Antedean TNG
52 Antican TNG
53 Axanar ENT
54 Balok puppet TOS
55 Bynar TNG
56 Cytherian TNG
57 Hierarchy VOY
58 Kelvin doctor ALT
59 Long-face ALT
60 Madeline ALT
61 Selay TNG
62 Sheliak TNG
63 Silent Enemy aliens ENT
64 Suliban ENT
65 Tarchannen III TNG
66 Traveler TNG

Not using (for various reasons):
67 Aenar ENT
68 Excaliban TOS
69 Founder DS9
70 Horta TOS
71 Kelvin bridge alien ALT
72 Moto ALT
73 Ocampa VOY

Re: 50th Anniversary project

They all look great, you do good work.

Now, it may just be me, but if I were doing this, I would probably stick to ones that are easily identifiable.

With the "funny looking head prosthetics" line, it reminds us that there were so many generic/similar looking aliens, or at least one-offs, that it would be hard to figure it out without help in the case of an icon.

Either way, keep up the good work.
