It's unfortunate when people can't just have preferences in Star Trek and have to actually hate parts of it.
I can understand not liking a series. What gets me is people who claim to like a series, but absolutely hate several of its key characters or components.

That doesn't seem to be true with Enterprise.. People either enjoyed it, hated it, didn't watch it, or watched part of it and stopped (I feel sorry for those people the most)!

So many people are coming back to it though and rediscovering it. It's like a movement!!

Re: So I have FINALLY started watching Enterprise... love it so far!!

I used to think Voyager was a horrible series. Then one day I realized I actually liked the series and many of the characters on it. The Doctor is one of my all time fav Trek characters.

No I realized that Voyagers wasn't a horrible series, Janeway was a horrible captain! Loved the person of Janeway, but man oh man! did she many some at best questionable decisions. At worst, down right stupid!

Oh and I guess so long as I done made the Voy fans mad I might as well jump all in and ask a question. Am I the only one who saw the writing of the shield strength all the way through the series as all over the place? Typical example: They take two hits and shields are down to 60%. (Ouch couple of BIG hits) Then they get hammered on for 2 minutes of expository (Oh I dunno lets call it an even 10 shots to be generous) and shields are down to 45%. In episode after episode the shields lost approx. half of their effectiveness in a few short shots then miraculously always held out without ever totally going down under repeated assault!

Its glaring when you watch a bunch of episodes binging )

They could use different numbers every time for shield strength and I would neither notice or care.

What exactly does this have to do with the topic of this thread?

Re: So I have FINALLY started watching Enterprise... love it so far!!

I'm nearly done rewatching the show. Although I still think Enterprise has the weakest cast of characters, I was pleasantly surprised. It was not as "boring" as I remembered.

And more than that, I actually enjoyed the first two seasons as much if not more than S3/4 this time. Maybe I just prefer standalones over multi-episode arcs. Or maybe TNG/VOY-style exploration is more my thing than DS9-style political soap opera and war epics.

Anyway, only 1 more episode to go. TATV.

Trek Survivor, what happened? I was really enjoying your little reviews. Did you finish season four?

I think you are mistaking me for Trek Survivor.

Trek Survivor, where are you? I'm really curious what you think of S4.

...and Isolinear, did you heed our warnings? I wish I did when I was watching for the first time. I specifically remember some of the same people who warned you warned me also. They were right. But I had to see what they were right about. Curiosity killed the cat indeed.

Re: So I have FINALLY started watching Enterprise... love it so far!!

I wasn't watching it for the first time. Probably the third time. But yes, I watched TATV again yesterday. Not gonna discuss it in case Trek Survivor pops back in. But I will say this; it wasn't as awful as many people make it out to be. Just very mediocre with a lot of strange story decisions for a series finale.

But the nature of the episode makes it very easy to dismiss a lot of scenes as non-canonical anyway, so no real harm done I suppose. I get to pick and choose what happened, and what didn't happen.
