Well my order shipped from Amazon yesterday but they didn't apply the new pricing to the order. I'm a little annoyed by that.

Often they retroactively credit your account with the difference. Mine hasn't shipped yet, but it still shows a price of $74 something. I'll be keeping an eye on it...

Yeah, that's what happened when I ordered S5 from Amazon. It just seems like they jumped on the price change a little quicker last time.

I'd open a chat with Amazon to ensure they refund the difference. The same thing happened with ENT S4 (they lowered the price on release day, but charged me full price) and I never received the difference. They'll happily refund it if you ask though.

There's all this talk about sales and if it's worth it to do DS9, but I really wonder what sales does CBS look for with these sets. I get maybe sending out limited supply, but I was looking in the Target ad (online, so I might have missed it) last night and there was no mention of Season 6 or Chain of Command. Then when you go to a store, there is only like 3 or 4 copies. Kind of hard to sell them when you don't have any to begin with.

When Target was advertising the previous seasons with the solo episode for $10, they had only 2-3 copies of each at opening time. If I didn't get there at 8:30AM, they'd already be gone.

Look around all brick-and-mortar stores - Target, Best Buy, the movie sections continue to get smaller and smaller entirely. It's not just TNG.

I'm getting mine in the mail from Amazon later today. I was just making the point that I don't know what CBS expect in terms of sales when there is such a limited supply.

I don't know if it's CBS's fault though. The retailers decide how many copies they order. If this were Game of Thrones, they'd order hundreds. But TNG? Just a few.

Mine arrive from Amazon tomorrow, oh well. I don't order until the price drops. Had I ordered last week, I'd probably get them today. But not having to deal with any price drop snafus is worth a day's delay.

On a couple of the seasons Target had good deals when you bought both the season set and the standalone two-parter at the same time.

But, like you said, season 6 wasn't even in the Target ad.

Not much of a concern for me, since Target has a habit of pre-damaging things like this for you with their insane security boxes and spider devices.

I bought Season 6 at Best Buy today. I was literally the first person through the door when they opened at 10 a.m. The store had just two copies of the season set, that was it.

but none anywhere near where I lived.

Best Buys in my area (SF Bay area) are pretty bad as well. It shows as available in 2 out of 20 stores.

Last year, I went to Best Buy to buy the Indiana Jones Blu-ray set on release day, and not only was it unavailable, they didn't even have a spot for it yet.

I remember going to the Florence, Ky. Best Buy for seasons one and two and they had twenty copies (IIRC) each time. I didn't have to go hunting for it or order it. I went to Target in Newport, Ky. for season three and "The Best of Both Worlds" and they didn't have any copies of the season set on release day. So I snagged those from Wal-Mart. When season four came out neither Target nor Wal-Mart had copies of the season set on release day. Season five I ordered from Amazon a few weeks after it came out.

The dwindling availability of the season sets may (may) point to brick and mortar retailers having issues moving the sets.

Closest Best Buy I could find with season six in stock was in Louisville, Ky. 104 miles away.

Is it possible they just haven't scanned them in yet? My stores are all showing unavailable too, but I never had trouble finding the past seasons. Maybe I'll just go to the store and hope its on the shelf somewhere.
