Distant Planet Terrified It Might Be Able To Support Human Life

In short, all humans are parasites according to this planet.

Oh well, there's other planets in the galaxy....

Crap. Considering how long thoughts take for planets, this one must have been writing this text since Homo Erectus times. Can you imagine the horror, a blink and the humans are there.

Space:1999 had an alien express something like that idea.

^That's where the writers probably got the idea for this article from.

a very pretty picture of Jupiter, at any rate! =) Europe's shadow looks a bit like one of those beauty patches they used in the 1700s

RIMMER: Lister, don't you ever stop and wonder: why are we here? What's the grand purpose?

LISTER:
Why does it have to be such a big deal? Why can't it be like, like, human beings are a planetary disease? Like the Earth's got German measles or facial herpes, right? And that's why all of the other planets give us such a wide berth. It's like, "Oh, don't go near Earth! It's got human beings on it, they're contagious!"

RIMMER:
So you're saying, Lister, you're an intergalactic, pus-filled cold sore! At last, Lister, we agree on something.

Re: Distant Planet Terrified It Might Be Able To Support Human Life

Reminds me of that bit in the first Men in Black film where Agent K compares human thought to an infectious disease. I'd have thought that was a lot less ironic if it wasn't an actual human being who said that line.
