Wrong description on Amazon?

I was getting my pre-orders done and seeing what ws coming out and saw this: http://www.amazon.com/Star-Trek-Next...K04W7E6FS9BG09

The description on Memory Alpha is quite different. Just making sure that this is wrong?

Re: Wrong description on Amazon?

Yes, because that's the blurb to Point of Divergence, the Seekers novel out at the end of this month...

Re: Wrong description on Amazon?

This sort of thing is actually quite common on Amazon. I've seen it happen plenty of times before, and not just with Star Trek product. It'll get fixed in time, don't worry.

Re: Wrong description on Amazon?

They were probably using an existing description as a placeholder.

Re: Wrong description on Amazon?

FWIW I don't think Amazon is to blame, as it is also the description from the publisher's website: http://books.simonandschuster.biz/St.../9781476782720

Hmm, good point. Though, as I said, Amazon does this sort of thing with other things than Star Trek books or even Star Trek product. I guess it's possible in those situations they're copying another official site which also has the wrong description. Just goes to show you really have to be careful with what you trust online.

Re: Wrong description on Amazon?

As far as I know Amazon (and other retailers) get their info (automatically?) from the different publisher's catalogs, so most likely if there is a wrong description for something it's te publisher using some placeholder in its catalog.
