STAR TREK: EQUINOX

Just discovered this project while surfing various sites. It's totally unclear to me what time period it'll be set in.

It advertizes film actor John Savage reprising his character from Voyager, but also Gary Lockwood returning to Trek after 40 years to play Fleet Captain (?) Gary Mitchell ()...(uhhhh, weren't he dead?)... For wrestling fans, former WWE's Matt Striker will be playing a Romulan Commander.

Their Facebook page is a bit confusing, some parts say Equinox is an audio drama, other parts say it is a proposed TV pilot. IMDB lists the story as taking place in the year 2393 (during TNG/Voyager period) but on Facebook some of the characters are dressed in TOS outfits

Yeah, I've heard of this thing, and not sure how to classify it either. Gary Mitchell? Really? Alive and well, and now a Fleet Commander? Okay, if you say so, but everything I've read says it's going to be taken to CBS as a pilot for TV. Snowball's chance in South Georgia there.

Wish them luck, who knows. We could see Jack Sparrow riding with The Lone Ranger?

Oh I do wish them luck--I would love to see another Star Trek series on t.v.!

I just don't think the concept and cast is going to take it to pickup, that's all.

^^ Exactly.

Frankly, I don't see CBS/Viacom picking up any fan film and taking it to TV.

Not that anyone asked, but here's what I have on this fan film:

Star Trek: Equinox: The Night of Time. Planned video or film. Golden Age, Adult Fans, Live Action. Cameran T. Burton, Writer. Website: http://startrekequinox.com/ (seems to be associated with Star Trek Online). Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Star-Trek-Equinox/277567645629801 Here is a listing at IMDb: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3375214/?ref_=nm_ov_bio_lk1 , and here is a preview discussion from Examiner.com : http://www.examiner.com/article/to-boldly-go-3 also http://www.examiner.com/article/special-effects-star-trek-style My Comment: Budget is set at $250,000. Does not seem to have any source of funding. Added Dec. 18, 2013.
TMZ notes casting of WWE Star as a Romulan Commander: http://www.tmz.com/2013/12/31/wwe-matt-striker-star-trek-equinox-acting/?adid=sidebarwidget-tmzsports

ST Equinox: Lt. Cmdr. T'Lexa http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzaPmHG7J_k (1:42)

Here's a behind-the-scenes discussion on the webseries, "Steve Neill's Garage" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b22pABKWv6s (33:29). Interviews at the end. Somehow this project involves Gary Lockwood (from the TOS Shatner pilot) and the Equinox from Voyager.

Re: STAR TREK: EQUINOX

All I can say is that if they can pull off an episode, I'll give it a watch. I don't personally think Renegades has a chance of making it to series, so my expectations for Equinox are even lower...

Still, I'm always up for more Star Trek.
