Re: Peter Jackson directing opportunity now "getting serious"

It seems pretty clear that they going to try more theatrical releases like TDOTD. From all reports, the money it brought in really got their attention.

Of course, these would never regular things, but rather special events. Getting in a big name director like Peter Jackson, along with location shooting in NZ, would be a great vehicle for one.

Of course, what helped Day of the Doctor was the fact that next to nothing was spent on it. In order to replicate that success, they'll try to follow suit. Therefore, it'll be a regular episode on the theatre screen as opposed to something specifically crafted for theatres.

^ Who knows, maybe not. I wouldn't be so sure about anything at this point. The probability of co-funding has gone up I'm sure.

The fact that it was the 50th Anniversary with two doctors in it helped a lot. They have to realize that, for it to make sense, they'd have to replicate something on that scale, which isn't easy to do. Then they have to convince people that it's equally worth it to come out for a less special event.

If I can watch it on TV, I'm less inclined to see a non-anniversary special in theaters. It was fun because it's a special occasion. I'm not sure it's worth it all the time.

Certainly the Two Doctors and The Anniversary Special were a big part of it, but, I imagine just the 3D alone had it's own part in the attraction. But, yea, definitely can't expect the same results, especially if it becomes a regular thing

But, of course. And read it spelled NOSE, also
