Spinward Traveller Movie/Pilot

Is anyone here a fan of the Traveller RPG? It's one of the games that I really like.

Well the same guys behind the Knights of the Dinner Table series are pushing ahead with an actual Traveller Movie. It only took 35 years for someone to get around to making one!

Anyhow, their is more info at https://www.facebook.com/SpinwardTraveller and at http://d20entertainment.com/spinward-traveller/

I've only seen a little of Traveller and never played. But I heard once that it was the source or inspiration for Firefly.

This would have been early in the show, long before they came up with the "no FTL/one solar system" business.

I wonder if they are scrubbing out all of the borrowed material from H. Beam Piper from the setting?

So the Kickstarter is live here. It has been less that an hour and they have the better part of two grand contributed.

Like others have said, this game was the thematic inspiration for Firefly. Joss Whedon said so in a way that meant he will not have to pay royalties.

They are making about 3 grand a day. Very encouraging.
