Re: Gal Gadot cast as Wonder Woman In ‘Batman Vs. Superman’

I love how when Gal says "By the book", she's referring to stuff that technically is more myth than fact. We've had plenty of female characters who use bows and I don't recall a single one of them complaining that their boobs get in the way. Not to mention that the number of Wonder Woman depictions where she slices off one of her breasts so she can use a bow better is....

ZERO

How come when it comes to talking about Wonder Woman as a character and we use the phrase "By the book" to describe her, why are we not talking about her freaking comics? Shouldn't that be the number one source of getting to know Wonder Woman and her mythology? There are decades worth of material from comics, shows, games and even animated movies.

I just get the feeling that Gal and everyone involved in this movie doesn't care one bit about Wonder Woman, and instead will probably reduce her to a character like this.

Pretty sure she was making a joke at the expense of anal retentive types.

She's obviously tongue-in-cheek responding to the fanboy whinge that she's not voluptuous enough to be an "accurate" Wonder Woman. And obviously when talking about the mythical Amazons you'll be dealing with... myth, not fact.

Indeed, she's quite funny about it. Turtletrekker noted here from her how easy it is to deal with breasts.

This is still directed by the same guy who did Dawn of the Dead, 300, Watchmen, and Sucker Punch, right? I thought a crap was given about the female element in those movies. I will confess to not understanding women though, so YMMV.

I wonder if Mariska Hargitay would be willing to play WW. Don't even try to tell me that wouldn't be awesome...

Violence is sexy.

Whatever "seems" to be wrong with the actress.

Just have the script give her yet more killings and it will even out.

I agree Mariska Hargitay is a beautiful woman but she is more of an age to play Diana's Mother.

Have you seen SVU lately? Mariska doesn't look anywhere near her age. You would never guess that she's 49. She could play any age and get away with it just fine. And let's face it, she has the Wonder Woman attitude as well as ability.
