Too counter culture. Too surreal. Too imaginative. Generation Hipster wouldn't get him.

Would we see Howard's nemesis Doctor Bong?

They need a Squirrel Girl movie.
Wouldn't that be the shortest movie in history?

Five seconds into the movie she has beaten the Big Bad into a pulp... off screen.

It could be the set up to Howard. City Park SG is doing her thing then a giant beastie comes along. SG rushes toward it, we switch to the screaming fleeing citizens a bit then come back to SG and the badly beaten beastie where SG gives a safety warning about looking both ways before crossing the street. Then on to Howard.

Big spoiler about an appearance of Howard in an upcoming Marvel movie...

Is Howard too counter-culture for this day and age? If they ever did it I'd suspect another silly animal movie.

It looks like they're going for it anyway.

Re: Disney's Howard the Duck reboot.

I liked the first Howard film and a rebooted Howard would be great. I may have to go see GotG after all.

Yeah, but will it be Gerberesque social satire or just an angry duck with a gun?

That depends on Marvel's perception of their current audience--which is not as into the kind of social satire Marvel fans were exposed to in the 1970s. Big noises, geek-off material and high school-level comic relief is the order of the day, so I would say vintage Howard should not be expected.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I would expect.

I think Howard's apearance in GotG was just a fun gag, not an indication of future plans of Marvel Studios.
