Okay, this is weird. I found two YouTube postings, one purporting to include all the variations of the "I Am the Doctor" motif from series 5-6 and another purporting to include all from series 7, and neither of them includes that fast, brassy version that BBC America uses in its promos. So I'm no closer to finding the name of that cue.
I know that this is slightly off-topic but BBC America had a piece of music they used for "The Tudors" promos that I've never been able to find.

Marginally less off-topic, but I don't suppose anyone knows the source of the music used in BBCA's The Doctors Revisited specials over the past year? I think it must be some stock source, because last month I heard the same melody performed chorally in an unrelated TV commercial

Re: The Day of the Doctore Review Thread (Spoilers?)

Sometimes the BBC will contract companies to do stuff for them. For instance the Doctor Who theme used in the "The Day of the Doctor" #savetheday trailer was done by Strings and Tins. It is possible the same sort of thing was done for the Revisisted theme.

^But I'm talking about the specials made by BBC America, not the BBC. They may share a name and an owner, but they're distinct entities.

Yet it is possible the same sort of thing happened.

^ Indeed. I actually meant to say BBC America as well, but it just slipped my mind when I was posting LOL.

Maybe you can make an inquiry to BBCA directly.

Or even Google BBCA Doctor Who Promos on youtube, then Christopher could at least find the piece he's referring to

I already tried that, but all I can find is this trailer, which uses a few seconds of it at 0:29-0:36.

I'd be the first to say Dr Who has been uneven the last few years, but this 50th anniversary special was nothing less than awesome. Not sure I really have that much to even pick on. Well worth the attention it's been getting.

A thought which occurred to me: what is now the status of the Doctor's family? He's said throughout the series that they're all dead, but is this something he actually knew or just what he naturally assumed given they were on Gallifrey at the end of the Time War?

Nothing established them being dead prior to the burning of Gallifrey, so I don't see why he couldn't have family alive now. Looking for Susan could be a motivator to finding Gallifrey.

Susan wasn't on Gallifrey. Would she have gotten "recalled"?

Of course, if she wasn't on Gallifrey, the whole "last of the Timelords" concept gets a little silly.

I can imagine when things started to get desperate (Before they really went off the rails and brought back Rassilon and didn't care about others anymore) Susan and Romana (And any other "nice" Time Lords that may have been running around) would have run back home to Gallifrey to help (They've both fought The Daleks). The Master, I can see how he was purchased (He goes through Regenerations like Water). The Rani, never made any sense to me, though, I can't imagine how they could bribe her to go back, she only cares about her experiments. What could they offer her, that she couldn't do better for herself, without them around?

Protection from the Daleks as they go about hunting down any strays. I can even see her helping them out so long as she could continue her experiments and be killed by them when she'd served her usefulness to them.
