Re: Casting a Gender-Switched Enterprise

Three beautiful women sit around a campfire, blankets on their shoulders, hair mussed in the night breezes.. they have been singing a bit of a ditty moments before but as often happens with this trio a little snappishness comes into the picture.

"I was trying to comprehend the meaning of the words." --T' Spock

"It's a song, you green-blooded...Vulcan. You sing it. The words aren't important, what's important is you have a good time singing it." -- McCoy

"Oh, I am sorry, Kitty. Were we having a good time?" -- T'Spock

And playfulness abounds..

A female Bones? Oh come on, nobody thought of the obvious joke?

Uh-oh! Can't call another T.V. show's woman "Bones," unless CBS wants to pay royalties! Looks like "Kitty" will definitely be McCoy's new nick, after all ...

That's not actually true, is it? Because that would really be reaching, even in modern day's lawyer-rich environment.

You might not be able to call the show Bones but I'm sure you could call the character that.

Leona is a nicer name but the casualness of Leonie kind of suits McCoy. BUT she could be Leona and get called KITTY.

Miss Kitty?

I know that. That's why you couldn't use it again, but there's no reason you couldn't call Girl McCoy Bones as a character name.

An opportunity presents itself, here ... what about their Gender - Switched Counterparts? Like, oh, let's say Edith Keeler and Zarabeth:

It takes the bit about "eating meat" to whole new level of meaning.

This is the best thing I've ever seen.

(Though I would like Zaraben to be blonde.. but who cares he's lovely!)

If we're gonna change the gender of ALL the characters, the Enterprise computer must have a male voice.

I can think of John_Rhys-Davies (the Mirror Universe version could be Brian Blessed).

How about Alan Rickman for the computer.
