Human Error, which is what that picture was from.

Ah the episode I mentioned as one of the more unfortunate aspects to 7's development. She looks great in that picture. I always loved it when the writers allowed Jeri Ryan to let her hair down. It's one of the reasons why I love The Killing Game.

That red dress in that episode was my favorite look on her.

I absolutely and utterly adored her. She is my favorite Trek character ever.

As to dresses..

Seven and the Doctor were the stand out characters....she was the first character who finally gave the captain an opinion without cowering in a corner

I don't agree that she's that unique though.....she's essentially another Vulcan but one that has the occasional emotional crisis.....which actually made her far more compelling and interesting

It's that aspect of the character that I actually don't particularly care for. I can see starting her off as someone who had been robbed of her humanity by the Borg, but by the end of the fifth season, she probably should have been the most emotional character on the show as she reconnected with feelings she hadn't experienced since her assimilation. I think the series really dragged out her return to being Human for the sake of keeping a sexy (but oblivious to her sexiness) woman parading around in a tight catsuit--something they would repeat in the very next Trek series with T'Pol.

The whole being a Borg most of their life who was then disconnected was unique only to Seven when she came around.

Plus a person who lacks emotion early in life is more likely to become a sociopath than becoming overly emotional later on. If someone called Seven a sociopath, I wouldn't argue with them.

That's not really a given as there's a wide range of personality disorders.

I liked Seven well enough but she suffered from the same problem that Data did on TNG, become more human one week, forget about it the next. I also agree with the complaint about her being a bit of a Mary Sue.

Love the character 7 of 9 and loved Jeri Ryan.

Also loved her catsuit. I really don't see why folks have a problem with it. Jeri didn't.

Now if they would have slept 7 around all over the place then yeah, but they didn't.

I also didn't have a problem with the Chuckles relationship. How else was she going to choose? - - - ..... Harry?

That was one thing Jeri was concerned about when interviewing for the character, she didn't want Seven hopping beds every week.

Setting her up with Neelix could have offered all sorts of unusual scenes for both characters. And Ethan Phillips would have been the luckiest man on the set.

Seeing as how there are only two options I had to go with 'no'.

She started out as an interesting concept (body paint not withstanding), but as she hogged too much screen time, pushing other characters to the side and stilting their development, was made an expert in everything, helped defeat the Borg time after time, and generally rubbed in the audiences faces because she was blond and well-endowed (I get it, she is an attractive woman, please move on already), I lost all interest in her and then the series as a whole.
