She was my favorite character on Voyager. Very dynamic actress if you seen her on other shows like Boston Legal. Playing 7 of 9 must have been a personal challenge.

Yes,but she did a really wonderful job!Seven was far more than fan service and I really enjoyed her character development and relationships with other members of the crew.

Re: Did You Like Seven Of Nine?

She was written off as just being Fan Service (though to be fair, there was definitely a little bit of that as well ), but Jeri Ryan has clearly got some good acting chops on her, and she brought a LOT more to that role than just being a good figure in a catsuit (though to be fair, there was definitely a little bit of that as well ).

In episodes like 'Body And Soul', she was terrific.

Seriously, alongside Mulgrew herself, Jeri was probably one of the best actors in the cast.

I agree with you both
Jeri can display so many emotions well and made Seven a really wonderful,three-dimensional character.

Oh I agree, JR is a great actor, but a lot of people are quick to underrate her because of the fan service catsuit.

Re: Did You Like Seven Of Nine?

I started watching the fourth season of Star Trek: Voyager again recently, and Seven really is a strong, compelling character. Yes, the figure-hugging catsuits are obviously a bit of fan service, but her story and character arc are interesting and really saved the show. It's just a shame that they had to get rid of Kes as she was getting interesting instead of the dull as dishwater Harry Kim.

"On the contrary. Gravitas is foremost on my mind."

I really like the brief interactions we get with Kes and Seven, and would've loved to have seen a friendship and sisterly relationship between them.

^ Oh yes, that would be really great!I think they would get along well, with Kes being really patient and helping her fit in with the crew.

Re: Did You Like Seven Of Nine?

Anyone who dismisses Seven as mere fanservice obviously hasn't actually watched the show. She's arguably one of the most well-developed (no pun intended) characters in all of Star Trek.

Re: Did You Like Seven Of Nine?

Pity we never got the chance to see Seven meet Picard. I'd love to hear how they'd swap tales of the Borg.

Re: Did You Like Seven Of Nine?

Now that might have been interesting. Perhaps 7's still identifying with the Borg might have caused Picard some problems.
