That does sound really good. And though the book's description is all about Seven and Kirk, I'm hoping we get some good Seven and Spock scenes in there.

Re: Did You Like Seven Of Nine?

Greg Cox is a great writer too. This will be awesome. I can't wait to see the cover, I hope we get 7 AND Kirk on it

Re: Did You Like Seven Of Nine?

I do love Greg Cox's writing. I haven't gotten around to all his books yet, but I loved his Eugenics War/Khan books, and he also wrote a great Voyager novel, Black Shore. I intend to get around to his other books soon.
Oh, on the subject of Seven, I knew someone who back in the day had a theory that Seven's mother had become the Borg Queen, which didn't seem completely ridiculous since the Queen took such a special interest in Seven. Would've made all the sexual tension between Seven and the Borg Queen even more creepy of course.

Re: Did You Like Seven Of Nine?

But she recognized her father.

"Papa?"

That was so embarrassing, that's like the only line and moment I've ever disliked involving 7

Yeah, there is that. I could believe the Borg Queen made Seven not recognize her.
I wasn't bothered by Seven and her father. We knew he'd been assimilated, and I can see where being confronted with that horror caused Seven to regress into the child she was when she was him last.

Re: Did You Like Seven Of Nine?

And since the Borg Queen in First Contact talks about how far away her world is, as in not earth, it would only be the body the BQ is using in VOY that was 7's mother.

It was just too much I thought. Also there's no desire to rescue him.

Re: Did You Like Seven Of Nine?

I was always a little vague if the VOY Borg Queen was really the same person as the First Contact Borg Queen, especially given the change in actors, although they made her up to look the same as the first one. It's just a crazy theory, and not even mine, but I thought it worth mentioning.

Re: Did You Like Seven Of Nine?

Well the Queen consciousness is I assume the same, but if she is using different bodies she may have some extra connection to the consciousness in that brain.

That's an interesting possibility, and that's what I meant. That the new Queen in VOY was Seven's biological mother, not the Borg Queen from First Contact.

Re: Did You Like Seven Of Nine?

The BQ knowing she had 7 back might have just dl/d into her mother's body!

That sounds liek a very viable option to me, that the BQ would choose to inhabit Seven's mother's body just to manipulate her.

Re: Did You Like Seven Of Nine?

Which of course begs the question why she could just inhabit 7, straight to the source. But of course god like beings are always hanging out for lesser folk to use their free will to love them. Dukat too.
