Jaimie Alexander: Babe of the Week #45 (Nov. 2013)

Jaimie Alexander
(Thor: The Dark World, The Last Stand, "Kyle XY")
Thumbs up= Thumbs down= Thumbs sideways=

Jaimie Alexander was born Greenville, South Carolina, but moved to Grapevine, Texas, when she was four years old. She took theater classes in grade school as a hobby but was kicked out in high school because she could not sing, so she took up sports instead. When she was 17, she substituted for a friend at a meeting with a scouting agency and she met her future manager, Randy James, who sent her some scripts. After graduation, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. Her career was launched in 2003, when she was cast in the leading role of Hanna Thompson in the low budget award-winning film The Other Side. According to the movie's commentary, she was originally at the audition to help out by reading against the male actors, but the director Gregg Bishop decided to cast her in the leading role after hearing her perform the lines. A year later, Alexander was cast as Jessi XX in the ABC Family series "Kyle XY," where she played the role of a super human being created by scientists as an experiment in a lab. She was nominated for the Saturn Awards as "Best Supporting Actress on Television" for that role in 2008.
Thor: The Dark World continues the big screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of "Thor" and "The Avengers," Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos... but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

Loved her ever since I saw her on Kyle XY where she played Jessi XX, who was cloned from a character played by Ally Sheedy…

She seems like a very tomboyish outdooorsy type yet knows how to glam it up on the red carpet.

I've said in the past that she'd make a good Wonder Woman since she almost has the look (it's largely in the hair) but you know who else she reminds me of?

It was better than I thought it would be. Too bad it didn't do better. It could have been more of a career boost for Alexander.

Too bad she's playing Sif she'd make an ideal Wonder Woman.

Very hot. After seeing her playing Sif I think she'd be a good Wonder Woman. UP!

What do you think this tweet from the Forbes movie blog is about?

Jaimie Alexander has been having "comversations" w/ WB/DC. She also knows things a/b BATMAN VS SUPERMAN's story. Do the math...

There's a rumor out there that Wonder Woman has a small role in Batman vs. Superman. I guess it's something to do with it.
