Re: TrekBBS Secret Santa 2013

Are we allowed to ask how many people are participating this year?

Re: TrekBBS Secret Santa 2013

There are 10.

Also, I am telling you individually, but here is a general reminder:

When you get your gift, please don't open it until I know that everyone has theirs. I'm setting January 1st as "opening day" unless I know everyone has their gifts already, at which point I will probably move it up. It'd be cool to open everything on the 25th, as long as everyone has their gifts by then.

This is the first year that I remember us doing this at TrekBBS. I think Robert mentioned that he's seen it at other message boards. I might be wrong though. If it has been done here before I did not participate.

Re: TrekBBS Secret Santa 2013

I'm not aware of this being done here in the past. I'm hoping that, if this year is a success, we can have more next year!

Hey quick question

When preparing the gift do we identify ourselves on the card? Or are we supposed to remain 'secret santas' until unwrapping day?

It's fine to put who you are on the card.

Re: TrekBBS Secret Santa 2013

I think next year, sticky the thread riiiight away and make it earlier. I know we do that on my other forum and it has a good turnout each year. Also if this is the first time this forum is having it, that could also be why there isn't that many people. After you do it a few years in a row, more people will expect it and look forward to it and you'll have a better turnout.

Re: TrekBBS Secret Santa 2013

Yeah, I hope word gets out about this one so we can have a bigger one next year. Still, 10 people is respectable (and manageable for me.)

Just a reminder: if you sent out your gift and haven't told me you did so via PM, please do. I am keeping track so I can determine if anyone may have forgotten.

I'm actually waiting for it to be finished (the last part isn't under my control) and I'm fretting that it's going to come out too dark. But it's the thought that counts, right?
