The Joy Thread: Misc Edition!

I wanted to start a thread here that is for celebrating joyful things. We have threads that show the pain we're going through and not enough threads that show our joy. So let's celebrate our joyful things!

My first contribution...

I have ridden my stationary bike five out of the last seven days, with about 23 miles ridden altogether. I feel better, and last night for the first time in six years, I was able to run for a few seconds.

Re: The Joy Thread: Misc Edition!

I went to my son's first vocal performance last night for his middle school and my youngest daughter was named student of the month. On top of that, my oldest daughter just finished watching the entire run of TNG (except the movies) last week.

Re: The Joy Thread: Misc Edition!

My stepmother was moved out of the crap-ass "nursing home" she was in, now she's in a much better care facility.

(She was in a serious car accident a few months ago, that's why she needs care. The reason I feel joy about this situation is because she is, once again, in a facility that actually takes CARE of patients! And another reason for joy is that her recovery is proceeding well - as well as can be expected, anyway.)

An almost perfect rainbow over the city this morning. Vibrant and clear. But transient. Ten minutes later, was gone.

Good for you!! Be careful on that bike...it'll become very, very addictive. Actually, I'm kidding about the be careful part - I'm hoping that it DOES become very, very addictive. I love spinning.

My oldest daughter is visiting from Winnipeg so our house is very joyful right now.

It finally stopped raining. Both of my kids stayed in their beds last night and didn't come into our room. A rare good night's sleep.

Today I saw an ad for diet sparkling iced tea and I was momentarily full of joy.

Re: The Joy Thread: Misc Edition!

That does sound good.

I received an unexpected but entirely welcome cheque from HMRC. Bliss.

I have a little over 90 days till I redeploy from Afghanistan.

I'm also looking forward to the assignments list coming out this month so I can see where I will be PCSing to in summer '14. (Hoping for D.C. area or Huntsville, AL)

Oh and they finally got french fries in the mess hall again after about 3 months without them!

Now that's the way to raise kids.

I'm sorry to hear about the accident, MLB, but I'm glad she's doing well. Do you have any idea when she will get to go home?
