That was a GREAT episode. It's nice when a network show doesn't dumb it down so much, or stick with the same stupid formulas and buffoonish characters. This episode was not only fun but interesting. I love the way all the plots came together so nicely.

Yeah, it was amazing how they brought all the disparate pieces of backstory and hints together into one seamless episode like this. Really a fantastic payoff for fans who have stuck with the show these last three years.

It didn't even seem like they were just including the main cast in the story just for the sake of inclusion; they were all integral parts of the story and performing their normal pre-Finch duties, with no contrived shoehorning into the story necessary. And it makes it clear how Finch decided to build his final team; it was all based on this one botched mission.

And then to have Root show up and get the kid from Jurassic Park and The Pacific at the end was just the cherry on top.

Really a brilliant bit of dramatic chess from the writers over the span of three seasons. I love this show.
Yeah, that was one huge gift basket for regular viewers and so well done.

I just love it when the shows picks up previous characters from an episode and re-uses them because it tightens up the show so much and make it feel like a whole.

Oh and he was the kid from Jurassic Park? Damn.. i only recognized him from The Pacific but it's been ages since i saw JP.

It's also nice to see Harold, computer god that he is, flub so spectacularly by choosing that idiot as his asset. It was easy to dislike him the way he was written but it was awesome to see Reese kick his ass effortlessly.

I was wondering halfway though the episode if it would be a complete prequel with no established characters and cheered loudly when Reese and that bitch Kara Stanton appeared (i still get a wide grin on my face when i remember how she was killed ).

Excellent episode

There's a surprising lack of interest on this board regarding this show. Do most people think it's just another CBS show that fits in between NCIS and CSI?(
Another thought on the sparsity of discussion here is that at least this hasn't gone off the rails argumentative like The Walking Dead thread. Most people that post in here are positive about the show or have legitimate criticism when the show isn't up to it's normally superior execution. Maybe it's the quality of the writing?

Anyway, I generally appreciate the thoughtful and well written responses in this thread.

^Also, I don't always have a lot to say about it here because I often can't watch it the day it airs. So, after a few days have passed, I get to see it, come into the thread, and someone has invariably already said what I was thinking; there's not much left for me to say that would add anything to the discussion.

Yep. Makes you feel old, doesn't it?

Yeah I mean, this is definitely one of my favourite tv shows at the moment. I just don't find there's much to say other than, 'it's amazing'.

For a moment I thought that Dillinger was going to survive at the end and he'd turn out to be the 'Moriarty' from last week. I do like seeing the flashbacks. Seeing Shaw was a cool moment but then when Root showed up at the end...that was just awesome.

I love that when the show makes an offhand comment, you can count on it to be addressed later on, and not just used as a mysterious or sinister hook that's eventually forgotten. Root mentioned something like "Does Reese know that he was not your first recruit, Harold?" a few months back, and now we get the payoff to that comment with Dillinger.

Agreed. That was a great episode.

Everything came together nicely. This show has really hit a nice stride, IMHO.

I only just watched this episode and it was fantastic. As others have said, it really paid off for longtime viewers. I really had a strong feeling that Casey wasn't going to be a one-off character, I just didn't expect him to turn up in the present by the end of this episode. This really is one of my favourite shows on TV right now.

"Do you really want to see what happens when two gods go to war?"

Damn.. i really do and i have an inkling this is going to happen. Given our dependence on the internet infrastructure and the virtual omnipotence of AIs in the digital world shit may really hit the wall.

Since they introduced The Samaritan and let it fall into the wrong hands the show blew wide open and i love it. This season finale may be one spectacular thing.

Wasn't much doubt of that happening, but I'm pleased to hear it, nonetheless.
