They mentioned the electronic files were wiped too, but you're probably right about backups. Then again, he IS the Ultimate Clever Nemesis.
I was also wondering why on earth all this stuff is with the NYPD only, and not with the FBI.

3XK's new partner took care of wiping the files at the FBI field office.

Great episode, with some superb acting by the entire cast. They really conveyed the terror, anger, and frustration they were experiencing at the deaths of the dopplegangers and the reveal that 3XK was behind it quite well.

I figured it had to be 3XK fairly early on due to the personal nature relative to the team and sophistication of the murders, and expected more dopplegangers of the team to be murdered (unrealistic though that may be). So, the fact that 3XK was behind it was no surprise, but the reveal that it was all just a ploy to steal/destroy the files rather than just to intimidate the team (though that obviously was a motivating factor too) was pretty clever.

The ending with the song and the look of horror on Kate's face was outstanding and creepy as hell. Good job all around.

Re: Castle - Season 6 Discussion & Spoilers

I enjoyed last night's episode. Good writing and acting (with the exception of that one guy at the precint with his overly-wooden delivery), but since this show doesn't take a lot of risks it was pretty obvious that everything would turn out ok. If they wanted to shake things up, that would have been a great episode to do it. I missed the mark on the bad guy though, I would have sworn that it was the female fire inspector.

I suspected that myself, but the early scene of her being surprised when she discovered the X (or +) pattern of accelerant argued against it, since she was alone at the time and had no reason to feign surprise.

But the guy who turned out to be the culprit was someone I hadn't remembered seeing before at all, although I suppose they did give him a scene or two to establish him.

Anyway, I have trouble believing that Ryan and Esposito could survive being underneath a blazing inferno for so long. And why didn't the firefighters put oxygen masks on them when they found them?

I must have missed her reaction, I just remember her looking at the x (or whatever). As far as them being under the fire, I would assume that the oxygen would have been sucked up by the fire pretty quickly, never mind the fact that the 20 foot fall onto concrete should have seriously injured them.

I found last night's episode to be boring and a waste of time. I was thrilled that they finally figured out it was all an inside thing, which took them way too long, and that it wash't going to be another useless two parter.

Re: Castle - Season 6 Discussion & Spoilers

I thought I had this one figured out right away -- I guessed that the Miley Cyrus-ish celebrity had her own decoy murdered so that she could fake her death and get out of the life she hated. And the fact that none of the characters even once contemplated that possibility, which seemed rather obvious to me, convinced me that it was probably true. Castle has a way of having the characters overlook an obvious solution to drag out the mystery, or at least has done so occasionally. I did start to have doubts here and there, but I didn't see the real solution. Although my second guess would've been the publicist, since she was the first person they talked to and looked kind of familiar. Instead it was the second person they talked to, for a change.

Re: Castle - Season 6 Discussion & Spoilers

One of the things that I found odd about this episode was that they mentioned the motorcycle had a fire logo on the tank, which to me should have immediately convinced Castle or the detectives to look toward the shifty ex-boyfriend as the chief suspect, since there was a picture of him with a giant fire tattoo posted right on the case board. But they then spent another several minutes until they got another piece of evidence leading toward him before they chased after him. Ultimately, he wasn't the killer, of course, but it's strange that such an obvious connection wasn't even acknowledged. It seemed like they had the picture with the tattoo prominently displayed up there for a reason, and made a point to specifically mention the fire logo on the bike, but maybe the payoff scene where the connection between the two was made was left out in editing, if it ever existed.

Also, I found it completely unbelievable for her character that Alexis wouldn't call Castle or Beckett to let them know where she was, who she was with, and what Miley2.0 was planning to do. I get that she had a bit of hero worship going on, but she's always had a pretty good head on her shoulders, and would know better than to head into danger without contacting someone.

Yeah, especially since she has fairly recent experience with being kidnapped.

It was an ok episode, nothing special. Except for the fact that we may never see Pi again!!!

God, I hate the character so Pi leaving is a very good thing.

But I have a sneaky suspicion that the next episode will be all about Pi, or that he will play some pivotal role in solving Kate's case.

We were supposed to hate Pi, I think. He existed solely to be a source of aggravation to Castle, and I'm sure his arc was always meant to end this way, with Alexis coming to her senses and realizing she could do better.

I like Pi.

If he's only in the episode for a minute I really don't care, plus if he didn't have the "mustache" he would be kind of cute.

Anyways the worst episode of the season by far. I thought I might have fallen asleep during it, but then I realized it just was nothing was happening.

I know what you mean. I just feel that if the producers paid an actor for a recurring role in a season, they would want to better utilize the actor by having at least one scene where Alexis breakups up with him.
