Borg or V'Ger for Trek XIII.

V'Ger would be perfect for the fiftieth anniversary because it would be like a "full circle" for the movies, the first Trek movie redone for 2016.

Seriously, what is the point of this 'reboot' if everything is just going to get rehashed? Wasn't the idea that it would open up the universe for new adventures? So far we've had a villain literally from the Prime universe and a retread of a TOS villain... fucking pointless...

Well it is entertaining to watch some of the fanbase wig out over them reusing previous villains and concepts, only to demand that their favorite villains and concepts get reused...cause you know, it's different when they suggest it.

Too update the franchise for modern audiences and to tell fun adventure stories where you don't already know the fate of the characters involved.

I know exactly what will happen; the bad guys will turn up in big spaceships, Kirk will be arrogant but learn his lesson and Spock will lose his temper and beat someone up.

Ad infinitum
.

And no one is forcing you to watch it.

more machine for a couple years. If we have to have (uggh) the Borg, then I want them to actually be frightening again, a real threat; no more of this space vampire shit from First Contact and Voyager.
OK, I got it: Terminators.

Try Star Trek Online concept of the Borg. They've been using the concept of less flesh more machine for a couple years. If we have to have (uggh) the Borg, then I want them to actually be frightening again, a real threat; no more of this space vampire shit from First Contact and Voyager.

Save the Borg for the TNG reboot, which will never happen.

No, the idea is to open up Star Trek to a wider audience, to make the franchise profitable, to make more money. This idea has succeeded.

Since they were created during season two of TNG by one of Roddenberry's buddies, shouldn't they be considered Roddenberry-Trek villains?

I voted no. I think the Tzenkethi should be the villain.
