First I've heard of this .

Interesting that he's met with the Ubisoft people:

The Prometheus actor admitted that he isn't a video game fan, but was attracted to the feature film adaptation due to its concept of revisiting past memories.

"That's definitely happening. We're just developing the script at the moment," Fassbender told The Daily Beast.

"I'd heard of it but had never played the game. I don't have a video game player... that's not what they're called.

"I met up with the guys from Ubisoft and they told me the story behind it, and I thought it was very interesting - the idea of reliving memories."

I'd be intrigued to see how they write the movie considering they're about to release the 6th game in the series and the story still hasn't been resolved.

I have heard of this - what I want to know is is he playing Desmond or one of the ancestors, and if so, which?

I have to admit that, to me, really the Ezio trilogy is the definitive AC series...

I'd be interested in a Fassbender Assassin's Creed film. He'd make an OK Desmond but I would rather see him as an ancestor.
