HP Pavilion DV6 Hard Drive Question

What kind of hard drives are in the HP Pavilions? My son has an old one, going to try and get it running again - employees at Best Buy weren't much help, the laptop has been out of warranty for years. I am not very familiar with laptop hard drives, (no pins, this one has what appears to be a slot where it connects). The old hard drive was a Seagate, but since I will be ordering the hard drive online I want to be sure I get the correct drive.
Atomic batteries to power, turbines to speed.

The "slot" is a SATA connector. You can use any 2.5 SATA drive. The recommended replacements can be found in the manual.
