Re: #FreeBabylon5 Campaign

Glad to see this effort to bring B5 back to tv and streaming. I was pretty bummed when it went off of Netflix. Really hope that they put it back on there.

I don't watch TV. It's a cultural wasteland filled with inappropriate metaphors and an unrealistic portrayal of life created by the liberal media elite.

Don't worry, jclark14 ... here's merely quoting a line from an episode of B5 - "Between the Darkness and the Light, specifically.

Re: #FreeBabylon5 Campaign

When first talking about getting Babylon 5 back on the air in reruns, JMS said that fans need to 'get loud and get organized' and so the #FreeBabylon5 campaign was born. Here's great opportunity to get loud!

Nominations are open for the People's Choice Awards and one category is 'FAVORITE SERIES WE MISS MOST'. Let's get Babylon 5 on the ballot by writing in Babylon 5 and voting *many* times and getting all of our friends, family, acquaintances, co-workers and random people on the street to vote, too!

From the site:
"Vote often through October 31st to make sure your favorites become Official People's Choice Awards 2014 nominees.
Voting for the winners begins on November 5th."
VOTE! Many times *per day*, every single day! US and International! Let's get LOUD and #FreeBabylon5!!

Re: #FreeBabylon5 Campaign

Ranger Phil let us in on this on FB over the weekend but JMS just posted the official announcement and #FreeBabylon5 gets credit for B5 being picked up by the Watch channel in the UK!

Babylon 5 fans have been campaigning for the show to return to TV with a 'Free Babylon 5' movement which has spread globally on Twitter and Facebook and even featured special events and auctions.
Watch has listened and now we've acted. From 4th November, you'll be able to watch every single episode of the ’90s sci-fi classic from the very beginning, only on Watch.
Click here for the rest of the article (and ignore the major inaccuracy):

Well that's just damn strange, the trailer they've made actually uses the hashtag. Hell, the whole thing is about the campaign! I think we have a fan working at Watch.

Really? That's excellent! Somebody from their FB page posted a couple of times this morning on the FreeBabylon5 Facebook page. Sadly, I'm on the wrong side of the pond to see it. :-(

The site is region locked? And here I thought that only happened going the other way. I'm sure there's a way to see it state side through a proxy server or some such.

We also appear to be getting some coverage on Digital Spy.

Glad to see progress on this, wish the trailer weren't region locked.

Episode 1 will be shown on Watch on Nov 4th at 5pm (repeated midnight and 9am). Starting with "Midnight on the Firing Line", a new episode will be shown every weekday. It appears from the publicity stills that Watch will be broadcasting the widescreen version. They say that they'll also be airing the TV movies, although they haven't begun with "The Gathering".

Re: #FreeBabylon5 Campaign

Tomorrow's the last day to write in Babylon 5 and try to get it on the People's Choice awards ballot! Vote a bunch of times tonight, even more all day tomorrow. We can do this!
