Junk Mail

I think we've all received those "funny" chain emails that at least one person in our contact lists cannot resist spamming us with. And they typically have one common feature...

Does anyone know if a study has ever been conducted to explain why such "junk mail" is always posted in colossal point sizes, turning one's screen into a teleprompter? I mean, is there some spam factory somewhere cranking this out using a template? Every time I see that giant text, often in all caps (known as "shouting" in Internet parlance), I wearily sigh, "the following is funny to mouth-breathers."

Re: Junk Mail

I started answering with Snopes articles showing the "funny" stories to be fake, and then hitting "Reply All." After about a month of that, I stopped getting them.
