The heavy, wet stench of animal feces broadsided Worf's olfactory senses and caused an instinctive back-of-the-throat regurgitation to present itself as the Klingon warrior crossed the threshold of Data's crew quarters. The android had been met with little success in domesticating Spot, his feral housecat, since first bringing it aboard the Enterprise nearly nine months ago. Though Commander Data has attempted many varied techniques, including corrective training through the use of a Klingon pain-stick, the animal evidently lacked the intelligence level required of domestication.

A sudden, shrill yowling erupted from the bedroom, followed by the sound of exploding glassware. Moments later, the cat came careening through a narrow doorway, its android master in hot pursuit. Worf was very nearly run down by the pair, his only saving grace being an agile step to the left and a deftly-placed phaser blast to the cat's side, which rendered the animal unconscious and sprawled out on the floor...
