Boys got pushed to the front of the queue, they recently changed the rules so if George had been Georgina she'd have become Queen even if she ended up with lots of younger brothers.

Yep, I forgot about that. But as it's not retrospective and William and Kate had a boy, it won't make a difference for a long time.

Now they only need to change the succession to the Crown based on geneoalogy. Oh wait...

But isn't the King's wife the Queen?

When people say we won't have another Queen in our lifetime, they mean Queen as Monarch, not wife of Monarch.

^ I assume there's a rule that prohibits one from being both? (i.e. a King and Queen ruling together)

Not sure, really.

Edit:
Coregency

Still not sure if there's a rule against it, but it's definitely not the norm.

Well the wives of Kings have usually been refered to as queens, but by and large the husbands of queens haven't been termed Kings, see Albert and Prince Phillip.

^ Right. There's Queen Consort, the wife of a King, Queen Regnant, a ruling monarch, Queen Dowager, the widow of a king and Queen Mother, the mother of a reigning monarch. Elizabeth II is a Queen Regnant. She's the ruling monarch because she didn't have any older brothers to become king. When Kate becomes queen, she'll be a Queen Consort. She can't rule. If William dies before she does, Kate becomes Queen Mother and her son George becomes king.

Queen Alexandra has a nice ring to it. Alexandra was one of the most popular names when people were expecting the child to be a girl and I heard that Kate liked the name Alexander. Who knows, maybe we could have had a Queen Alexandra.

I think Elizabeth has a fair amount of years left in her yet, so succession isn't a matter I think much about. Though I seem to like Prince Charles more than most.

Well, that hardly seems fair.

She could always stage a civil war and/or have her son(s) locked in the Tower and/or assassinated.

It's worked before.
