I always saw the Reeve suit as just a faithful realization of the long-standing suit in the comics. The belt was the way it was, because that's how it was drawn in the comics, and so forth.

IMO the Dean Cain suit looks the worst. Routh's suit is actually fairly bright. It's the filter Singer used in the film that makes it looks dark.

Wow. That's the first time I've seen the Cain suit in years. I actually remember really enjoying that show when I was little, but that is just painful to look at now.
Didn't really matter. I was tuning in for the Lois (and Clark) Show. Superman was a minor, recurring character.

If anyone is into fitness training or at least knowing how actors get in shape for superhero and action hero roles, I thought this was a fascinating article:

I note also that WB have announced their comic-con line up. Somewhat surprisingly, there is no official mention of BvS on it. However, with there seeming to be a big emphasis on Batman (not just Gotham, but the onscreen history of the character, it seems likely that there'll be some presentation about the movie:

I'm told that this guy will be making a sanctioned appearance at SDCC, wearing this decidedly "unofficial" attire.

Incidentally, kevin smith has denied the 'false script' rumour while Latino Review has pulled the story alleging that 3 new villains were added to the cast last week.

I know that you're saying you were basically tuning in for Teri Hatcher (I think most people were), but you've pointed out my biggest problem with that show. Superman was really just a supporting character.

It was sort of okay to take that approach with the Hulk, where he'd show up briefly to resolve the Problem Of The Week, but it used to piss me off that I was watching a show with Superman in the title and getting very little Superman.

Superman at least had a role in that show. <just gestures at Smallville; I mean, just... gestures!>

Was Superman in the title? I thought was just Lois and Clark?

Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.

Sure, it didn't put the focus on Superman at first, but it was a nice angle on the Superman story. And who wants to see the same thing over and over again with each new remake?

Re: ‘Superman & Batman’ movie will follow ‘Man of Steel’

Lois and Clark felt like a real breath of fresh air at the time, but I tried rewatching it recently and my god, it's cheesy as hell. And not especially well-written either, with the most obvious and simplistic plots you can imagine.

The only thing that still works is the chemistry between Cain and Hatcher, and pretty much anything John Shea does.

Yeah, I remember really liking John Shea's Luthor, even though he had hair.

Superman was just a supporting character in Lois & Clark... err... I don't get it. Clark is Superman.

Re: ‘Superman & Batman’ movie will follow ‘Man of Steel’

^Technically true, but just as The Incredible Hulk was basically "the adventures of Bruce (or 'David') Banner who occasionally turns into the Hulk (but not all that often)" so was Lois & Clark essentially "let's do a romantic comedy where the guy turns into a super-hero...once in a while". No one's tuning in to see "The Adentures Of Clark Kent".

Superman was a supporting character in Superman Returns also. It's really a Lois Lane movie since we follow her story more than Superman's. She has more scenes and more speaking lines than Supes/Clark.

Yeah, much as I love SR, I have to admit Clark and Supes did kind of feel a bit like background players in that movie.
