I liked how the Piper stories were somewhat de-emphasized. It seems like everyone else's problems are more interesting than hers.
That in itself is about Piper and her time in prison. These are the people she met and they all have stories to tell which puts hers in perspective.

Yeah, but that doesn't make her stuff more fun to watch. I would have gladly traded her furlough episode for another inside the prison.

I can't stand Piper and Alex! Either as individuals or a couple. I think the other inmates are a lot more interesting.

Season 2 definitely got better because they diluted Piper's main character-ness.

Wait. Do we think Vee might not be dead? Gah.
She's definitely a goner. The character was only meant for this season, her arc is over and there would be no reason to bring her back.

That being said, I've seen showrunners do stupid things before (bringing back Syler on Heroes?)
I really hope she is. I may or may not of jumped for a joy a little bit during that scene.

Breaking News! I just found out that Pablo Schreiber (Pornstache) will not be in season 3 because he has a leading role (I think) on a new show. That kind of sucks. He was the character you loved to hate.

Hopefully we'll see him eventually though. At least his absence will make sense.

I also read that he has kept the door open for future appearances if the show continues beyond season 3. I can't believe I'm going to miss such a vile mysogynistic jerk!

Re: Netflix Presents: Orange is the New Black

Mendes is a great villain but it wouldn't make sense for him to appear next season. At least without making some weird contrived reason he isn't in prison for rape.

Unless they wanted to do a side-story in a men's minimum security prison, which would be awesome.

Given the spoilers we've already heard for season 3, perhaps we will see him in another character's flashback.

Re: Netflix Presents: Orange is the New Black

The first season of OITNB won three Emmys at the Creative Arts ceremony (basically, where they stick the categories that aren't important enough for the primetime broadcast):

1. Guest Actress in a Comedy Series - Uzo Aduba (Suzanne/Crazy Eyes)
2. Casting in a Comedy Series
3. Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing for a Comedy Series - "Tit Punch"
