Stephen Collins Allegedly Confesses to Child Molestation

'7th Heaven's' Stephen Collins experiences fallout from molestation confession

Police are investigating "7th Heaven" dad Stephen Collins for alleged child molestation, after his estranged wife taped him confessing to having relations with several underaged girls, according to TMZ.

Within hours of the allegations surfacing, representatives for "Ted 2" confirmed Collins had been fired from the film, in which he had a small role, Entertainment Weekly reported. Collins also reportedly resigned from his position on the National Board of the Screen actors Guild and was no longer listed as co-director for the Committee for Stress-Free Schools, according to TMZ.ollins -- who is in the middle of a divorce with actress Faye Grant -- allegedly told her in 2012 he molested and/or exposed himself to several underage girls years earlier. The conversations happened during couples therapy and, unknown to Collins, Grant was taping the sessions. TMZ reported that Grant was advised by her lawyer that it was legal to tape Collins without his knowledge in California if she was gathering evidence he committed a felony.

On the tape, a copy of which TMZ obtained, Collins allegedly referred to a "disclosure" and a "list." He supposedly confessed to molesting an 11-year-old relative of his first wife in New York. He also acknowledged exposing himself to the girl "a couple of times," when she was 11, 12 and 13. Collins -- who also starred in the first "Star Trek" movie -- also allegedly talked about another girl in New York, who was 12 at the time, and actually started to get his alleged victims mixed up.
Holy cow! While this is still "alleged," it kinda makes that "7th Heaven" show a whole lot creepier.

How very sad for everyone involved. I'm a little confused about the "recording someone without their knowledge" thing--that doesn't seem like it would be admissible, but then again, I'm not well-versed in criminal law. It does make me wonder, however, why the hell the ex-wife didn't act as soon as she found out? How many victims could've been spared if she'd done something 2 years ago? Why would you not leave the guy IMMEDIATELY?

What do you think?

But I thought only gays sexually assaulted little children.

Even fake priests can't keep their hands off of children. Sicko.

I find it weird that the thing just came out now. I also don't think he will ever be found guilty being these tapes won't be used in court.

^ And depending on how long ago these crimes occurred, the statute of limitations may have passed.

The victims' families may still bring civil suits, of course.

I would imagine the statute of limitations would have passed, if this happened "years earlier," as the article suggests.

Yes, "sicko" is a nicer version of the terms I had in my head. It's beyond sick.

Whether or not these crimes are prosecutable there's no statute of limitations on public opinion. You can't say "Sorry, you can't fire me or judge me as a horrible human being, it was two years ago".

According to CNN, the alleged incident occurred 40 years ago.

Holy crap, so that is definitely a "long time ago." No criminal charges then, but he will certainly be a pariah from now on.

You think THAT'S bad? I once knew of a family where the father was sexually abusing his three daughters and the mother saw them as sexul rivals for her husband's attention. She would constantly cover up for him and justify fo him, all the while viewing her own daughters as sex rivals.

There's a LOT of sick fuckers out there.

And yeah, as a gay man, I thought *I* was the only person abusing little children?!?!

(For those a little dim, that's EXTREME sarcasm!)

This has depressed me all day. I really liked Stephen Collins. That he could do this to little girls just makes me sick to my stomach.

Hey! I can make up statistics out of thin air that PROVE homosexuality is related to child molestation!

Wait, 40 years ago? That changes things a little. Provided he is honestly repentant.

If he really did it then he deserves to be punished by the fullest extend the law.

But won't he be getting off because of the statute of limitations?

Where the fuck were the parents of the children doing forty years ago, and why didn't they speak up?

His neighbor's claiming on Twitter that Collins shot himself. She has another post with a pic showing a helluva lotta cop cars on her street.

TMZ (ugh, I hate that site) is saying it's a false alarm.

http://www.tmz.com/2014/10/07/stephe...gunshot-false/

TMZ (ugh) wrote:
One of Collins' neighbors -- actress Donna D'Errico -- tweeted a photo showing at least 6 LAPD units and wrote that the actor shot himself.

But sources directly connected to the actor tell us ... Collins is NOT at home and has been in communication all night.
