It's a good thing the media didn't take Phil's optimist comments and make a story out of it.

Oh no wait...
To be fair on this, journalists are under relentless pressure to deliver pieces, their bosses know what they're interested in (and ask if there's anything new there),, and Mark is one of us and an ok guy.

The story is actually fairly good because it's not over-sensualized or presumptuous, nor does it take Phil out of context. It merely restates what he said in his post with some background history on the search in general.

The typo that turned "more missing episodes" into "most missing episodes" will get Levine and the omnirumour bunch going.

Actually, I thought the story was very good in that it made it clear that nothing else is in their hands and there is no impending announcement or release. Nothing in the pipeline. So, all of the announcement on such and such date rumors are just wrong.

^ That gives me hope!

Funny story, I actualy spoke with both Deborah Watling and Frazer at the 50th celeberations and Deb said that she knew about the previous finds but was specifically told by the BBC not to tell Frazer because he'd give it away!!

Now, if there are new finds, he's showing remarkable restraint!

But, I suppose it could be about something else.

People are saying either:

- Missing episodes
- Christmas episode appearance alongside Capaldi
- Something entirely unrelated to Who/ personal etc

Only if you realise 75% of his followers on twitter are solely for that tv show he did in the 1960s.

I would love the second.

Now I'm imagining a riff on "The World Shapers" with Capaldi instead of Colin Baker.

Sounds like his agent just tweeted congratulations to a successful audition, so unlikely it's Who related.

But well done for whatever role he got.

Are we sure that isn't a role in the Christmas special? He doesn't necessarily have to be playing Jamie were he returning to Doctor Who.

Yeah, I know, even if he were playing a different character it seems unlikely Frazier Hines would have to audition for Doctor Who, unless it was done strictly as a formality.

What? I think it would be great to have him on the show in any capacity, so I'm going to be optimistic.

Oh man, I would love that. That was one of my favourite DWM storylines anyway, and to see it with Capaldi...oh yeah.

Re: Wiped Episode Discoveries

Well, while they slightly did it with Sarah, having the Doctor meet an elderly version of his youthful companion would be a very nice story to tell (the closest we've got onscreen is Travers). Before Day of the Doctor turned out so good (and it happened int he comic strip, sort of), I was hoping to have old Ian meet young 11th Doctor, as a nice reversal of the original dynamic.
