^True that is a possibility, but on the other hand you could get blue skies, though it would still be on the cool side. I doubt the tempature would be much above 10C however.

Once you get to Birmingham, you can just skip the rest. Try to get to Scotland without stopping, or talking to anyone.

Alternatively why not stop off in the East Midlands, full of history, friendly people and close to the Peak District!

Birmingham is nice though, especially if you like concrete

I could think of nicer places to visit than Birmingham, though some might disagree.

Birminghams improving rapidly. Its still full of Brummies though !

At that time of year you should get at least 35 minutes of daylight in Scotland and the rain won't sting too much. The midges will be gone, but be prepared for all the food to be deep fried. Even the salads. Best start drinking as you cross the border, and try to avoid sounding English.

Seriously though, its a great country - have a good time.

I'm a Brummie.

I've always said there was something off about you slightly north of Birmingham types.

Ah so you're one of those Southern Softies then? Who complain it's cold the instant the tempature drops below 10C?

Nope - highly cold adapted Celt with long red hair and beard. Well, grayish red now. Can't get along with hot weather and sunburn under electric light. If it wasn't for the freckles I'd be pale blue in hue !

Seriously though, if you're thinking of coming over Fife way or thereabouts, PM me. If you're looking for good nosebag in Glasgow, I can get a Weegie epicurean who's a minor legend in his own lunchtime on the job.
