Pet Companion

What if The Doctor had a pet companion again you know like K9 was so far his only pet companion what sort of animal could it be and why? I myself think an owl fits really well with The Doctor I just feel it fits him best and could be interesting in my opinion. What do you all think?

I'd really enjoy travelling with the Doctor, but, I'm not really happy about the label "Pet"

Re: Pet Companion

I mean for me the reason why I think its such an interesting thought is the H.G. Wells style the TARDIS and The Doctor had. I feel an owl would have fit right in really well. And I even still think with the futuristic TARDIS look I still believe an Owl could still fit in and be companion.

I dunno - could lend to some odd moments for the doctor, think if he had a horse...

Doctor: [finishing off passionate speech]... and that is why peace is the only option between the Human and the Sontaran Empires!

Sontaran General: Doctor... your words have much power, I agree that... wait...wait... the Doctor's companion, he... he unsheathes his genitals at us!! The insult!! ATTACK

[Doctor turns around, his pet horse has a full on stonker]

Not again Red Rum!

Take a number!

...to try to answer the question, as a cat person I think, K-9 and 10's declaration notwithstanding, that he'd be a good cat person. A cat has all the qualities he values in a companion -- independence, curiosity, loyalty, self-confidence...

And don't forget Cats rarely do what they're told, which is a necessity for a Companion. If the Companions did what they were told, half the stories wouldn't be able to happen

None. It's a terrible idea. K-9 was bad enough.

A sarcastic, foul-mouthed iguana. Who does nothing bu sit on the Doctor's shoulder and make smart-ass comments about everything. And a squirrel that sits on the console looking confused.
