While I dig the design, I like the ones with the beards more. Those remind me a lot of the fancy "new Klingons" from TMP.
I like them both, because I like the variation. It's a reminder to viewers (and also writers) that Klingons are supposed to be PEOPLE, not just interchangeable mooks who exist purely to give Kirk something to shoot at. Some have thick beards and blunt, angular features, others are smooth with pointed chins and ridges that look like horns. And some could almost pass for human if you met them in a dark room.

It would be awesome if their PERSONALITIES were that varied too.

True... and agreed on the second point.

All those designs and variations are so cool! Man, I love the new Klingons... I wish we saw more of them. Hopefully next time out.

Re: concept art and set photos!

The concept art is pretty in a 'i know where that is stolen from' kind of way. Makes me think Syd Mead and Calatrava were forcibly bundled in a bag, thrown off a truck and then made to represent their best concepts with blood from each others' head wounds.

Can't say enough bad things about the concept of TrantorFrancisco. In the future they must not have money OR zoning laws.

^ Truth in television: San Francisco CURRENTLY has no money or zoning laws. Contrast with Detroit, which has zoning laws, but no money.

Between Worf having compatible ribosomes with Romulans and the Klingons in the new film having pointy ears: I wonder if the case could be made they all share the same genetic heritage? Perhaps the Preservers were involved seeding one planet with inhabitants from the other?
