In tried to prospect for nukes but all I got was debt.
I guess I should bring up what games magazine once called the greatest board game of the 20th century.

Does anyone have any opinions about the game "Pantheon"?
Thumbs up/Thumbs down?
I haven't played it but it looks quite interesting and it has a good score on BoardGameGeek.
Thank you! We purchased it on impulse, and I look forward to playing it this weekend.

Re: tabletop

Cool, let us know how it is!

I'm a bit annoyed that Tabletop seems to have gone to a fortnightly schedule.

I've been playing Munchkin with friends a lot and we're really enjoying it. It's also been pretty even as well, nobody has really strung a number of victories together. I ordered the expansion Unnatural Axe so I'm looking forward to seeing what that brings .

Re: tabletop

I just got some new Munchkin stuff today, along with Dark Ages for Dominion. Anyone else tried Eclipse? It has sort of a B5ish feel to it.

Hubby's friend has ALL the Munchkiin games, and I love playing them. I think Space Munchkin is my all-time favorite, though.

Re: tabletop

I've never really branched out besides the "standard" Munchkin version, that is the RPG spoof one. I do like the Game Changers set.

Re: tabletop

I'll probably get Star Munchkin at some point because we're all big sci-fi fans. I doubt I'll get many more than that as I think that will provide enough variety to keep us going for a long while.

Re: tabletop

So far I've only played Munchkin Quest (we chose it because 2 people could play it...it looks like all the other games need at least 3), but we've had a lot of silly fun with it!

Hubby and I played "Pantheon" today. We had a bit of a rough start with it (it is a little difficult to play a totally new game from an instruction book ), but once we made it through the first few epochs the game mechanics started to make more sense. I think I will really enjoy it the next time we play. I think it will also be more fun with more than 2 people.

Re: tabletop

My favorite board game of all time has to be Cosmic Encounter, Mayfair version. That game's a recipe for chaos. I also enjoy those crazy six hour strategy games like the Lord of the Rings game.

Games the people I hang out with now play more often are things like Settlers of Catan, Carcassone, Ticket to Ride, Citadels, Seven Wonders, etc. Half strategic, half random craziness games that last 1-2 hours.

Re: tabletop

I have the FF version of Cosmic Encounter, and I like it. It's nice that they included a race based on Spaceman Spiff, with a cool power. A Spiff has the power of "crash landing" which means he can attack and lose by 10 or more, and still leave one of his ships on the target planet.

Re: tabletop

They played Smash Up on Tabletop this week which looks like another game I'll have to buy at some point!

I also found this video which Wil Wheaton made in the middle of season one, it's an hour long but it's a good watch, he answers questions posed to him by Tabletop viewers. It gets surprisingly emotional around the 39 minute mark.

Re: tabletop

Hubby and I have been playing Elder Sign with some friends. I love the art work on the cards, it really seems to capture the mood of Lovecraft stories. It is basically a co-operative dice game, but it is fun. It also has the added bonus of being able to finish a game in a decent amount of time (the last time we played Arkham Horror it took 6 hours, and we were nowhere near finishing the game!).

6 Hours! Sheesh!

Me and my friend are going to try playing Munchkin 2 player tonight. I've also ordered Smash Up.
