Re: Is Batman crazy?

Burn Notice is an example of a modern day Batman. Liked it very much. Also Kung Fu had the same task of fighting evil with his special knowledge of Karate. There were plenty of others - Nemo Williams - The paralyzed guy in an exo suit or what have you. Well you know why I bring it up because it seems that James Holmes is not crazy after all and is gonna get executed.

Eh, no offense but this post doesn't really have much ground. The perpetrator of that massacre's final fate has yet to reach a verdict. Furthermore, there is still a very strong case to made for this guy being insane. Prior to committing that heinous act he was already meeting with a psychiatrist(who detected signs of dangerous homicidal urges from him, and sought to warn the university of this before he dropped out). If anything, he shouldn't even be thrown the death penalty charge because it would only let him off easy and put him out of his misery, not to mention it would take 10 to 20 years for the execution to even commence. In stark contrast to his victims, he would be killed in a non-violent way through lethal injection. Now a proper resolution would be life without parole, similar to what the suspect in the Tuscon mass-killings got which would lead to the whole thing being resolved without need for the long, complicated trial process to transpire. The prosecutors should've have just accepted the guilty plea been done with it, unfortunately they allowed their inner self-righteousness, along with being swayed by emotional sympathy for the victims family to prevent them from making the proper choice.

Now it's going to be a long, long, time for that guy to receive justice, which means emotions of the victims families and friends will be running high without closure for a long dreadful time. God help us all.

Re: Is Batman crazy?

trying to explain how Batman would work in the real world is silly. He wouldn't. He'd be killed shortly after the start of his career as a vigilante. Hardened criminals with big guns aren't going to be scared of a guy in a bat costume with clever gadgets. And it would be impossible for Batman to ensure that he wasn't actually killing the criminals he fought, especially while fighting a group of them at once while his own life was in danger.

Leaving aside the issue of how one guy randomly patrolling the streets and beating up thugs for a few hours a night is actually going to make a big difference. When it comes down to it, Batman's as much fantasy as any other comic hero.

Re: Is Batman crazy?

I heard he was given the death penalty but if any one is crazy and insane it's got to be him. No? Where did he get these guns? Now that casinos have been isolated and localized I did see a guns and ammo shop in a Burn Notice episode. Don't have those in NYC I don't think, but Florida is notoriously lawless almost like Gotham, except not as currupt as say Jersey - the toxic wasteland. They're still looking for Corzine and the millions he stole. They'll probably find him hiding in the closet sobbing having spent it all on some hooker. A story as old as balony.

Batman is wholesomely unrealistic character that would no make no impact in a real life urban city. Though I wonder what would happen if a person who had comic book Batman abilities were to exist in the real world(our world) and fight crime in a city like say Detroit, or New Orleans. Would he be successful?

This.

He'd be killed by the bad guys, arrested as a vigilante, or injure himself too badly to go into action again. Or more than one of the above, most likely.

Who would win, Batman or Tarzan? What happened to Plastic man and aquaman. I like it when they team up like the Avengers. Singularly, they can be boring.

Neither, they'd fight until they realize they were being duped by the real villain.

Plasitc Man and Aquaman? They were in the JLA together during Morrison's, run but I don't recall them teaming up outside of that.

The prosecutors are seeking the death penalty. He hasn't been tried, convicted or sentenced yet.

NYC doesn't have gun shops? Guess again.

All I know is that on the Shit scale Bat falls only slightly below Ape.

That's still pretty crazy.
