Shovel Knight

Shovel Knight is an indie platformer coming out for the PC, 3DS, and Wii U later this year. It's a throwback to classic platformers on the NES such as Ninja Gaiden, Mega Man, and Duck Tales. The game even adheres to the NES color palette (with, in their own words, a few modern touches). Personally, I think the game looks fantastic and it's been a while since I've been so excited for a new game.

Re: Shovel Knight

IGN has video of the game's first level. As with everything else about Shovel Knight, it looks great. The Kickstarter met its initial goal a while back and is now close to its last stretch goal, but remains open if you want to contribute.

Re: Shovel Knight

That looks absolutely incredible. I just love that there's still a market for games like this in 2013.
