The Island (1980 version)

Not to be confused with the Scarlett Johannsen cloning film in the 2000s. I refer to the Michael Caine vehicle, directed by Michael Ritchie. It's recently been released on DVD for the first time in a BluRay/DVD combo. David Warner plays the chief villain. Older fans will remember the sequence in which dozens of pirates massacre the crew of a Coast Guard ship in a matter of seconds. For those who remember it positively or negatively (original reviews were generally savage), or for those who've just discovered it on disc, what say thee? (Myself, I enjoy it more with each occasional viewing.)

It was good and had much potential with an interesting premise that will probably result in a remake eventually.
