"Day of the Dove" Line-by-Line
Since I'm too impatient, I've taken the liberty of starting the new thread, which hopefully won't be considered bad form. We recently finished our "Memorial" Line-by-Line in the VOY forum! After each completed thread, we're randomly picking someone who participated to choose the next episode we do. The lucky winner this time around was Orac! And Orac has chosen TOS's "Day of the Dove" as our next Line-by-Line challenge! For any unfamiliar with our "game," you are asked to post only a single line (defined as one character speaking without interruption by another character) per message. You can post as often as you like, but someone else must post a line in between your posts. Our "rule" is that if the episode has a "To Be Continued..." on the end, it is done in a single thread, but if it's just an arc of related episodes, each episode is a separate thread. As before, at the conclusion of this thread, LeadHead, or CoveTom, or leandar will run the randomizer to determine who will pick the next episode and get it going. Okay, time for some Klingon action! Let's Go! |

(Kirk, McCoy, Chekov and a security guard have beamed down to a planet with a green sky and occasional outcrops of vertical rocks. Their phasers are drawn.) KIRK: Report, Mister Chekov. |

[Planet surface] KIRK: Total reply if attacked. So that's the answer. Klingons. |

Sulu: Trouble aboard the Klingon ship. Evidence of explosions, massive destruction.

(Five furious Klingons beam down.) SPOCK [OC]: Captain, the enemy ship is drifting, totally disabled. [Bridge] SPOCK: And we never fired upon her. |

Re: "Day of the Dove" Line-by-Line
KANG: You attacked my ship! Four hundred of my crew dead. Kirk, my ship is disabled. I claim yours. You are now prisoners of the Klingon Empire against which you have committed a wanton act of war! (And a weird swirl of light hangs in the air a little way away. The Federation landing party are disarmed.) KANG: For three years, the Federation and the Klingon Empire have been at peace. A treaty we have honoured to the letter. |
