The new Godzilla has made the cover of the lastest issue of Empire and it's possibly the best look at him.

Sound clip of the roar:

Godzilla gets a little autotuned at the end there, lol.

It sounds a lot like the original roar slowed down. I'm not saying it is that, but it has a similar structure/timing to that. I'd like to hear it sped up and see how it compares.

It's impressive, but it does sound a bit drawn out. The problem isn't necessarily the length, but how stretched the middle section is with little or no variation.

I would imagine that, as with the original, there are variations on the roar for differing circumstances, with some longer or shorter than others.

Maybe it's his "death sigh" as he dies at the end of the movie?

I like it, but I do have to agree with you. It does seem a lot longer than the ones from the earlier movies.

Re: Godzilla 2014: Rumors, Pix and filming

Did I see hints of another creature besides Godzilla? Towards the end there was something that looked like a really large hook/claw coming down on the ground.

Also, was that Hitaki from Helix?

Wouldn't that be the best viral media tie in ever if Helix turned out to be a prequel to Godzilla?

ETA:
On second viewing, it's not Hitaki but Ken Watanabe.

The Statue of Liberty is a nice misdirect there. That's the one in Vegas, not New York.

Plot theory:

Saw this on another forum, it would seem that one of the other monsters has its own "special" abilities: http://i1257.photobucket.com/albums/...ps49025813.png
