As amusing as it is that isn't the kind of new animation I'd like see with Star Trek.

But I can imagine a tongue-in-cheek short that precedes the main feature.

Eh, I'm sure some fans would object, "Aww, that denigrates the characters and no one will take the movie seriously!"
