Help! Dead Space 3 Glitch?

Either I'm an idiot or my game is glitched.

I'm on Chapter 13 of Dead Space 3, where you're climbing up an ice wall. I've watched the video walkthrough of someone jumping from one wall to the next. I cannot do this. I cannot jump like that. I have no idea what button you're supposed to do for that, I've tried every button, and I've googled it without success.

What the hell am I doing wrong? Or is my game glitched?

I'm on Xbox btw. HELP! This is driving me nuts!
