Not that I've noticed. But Polish Wikipedia removed all controversies from his profile. They were back later, after a lot of protests about the attempts to whitewash the new pope's past, but in much softer tone.

All this is just a reminder of one of many reasons why I emigrated and won't return

I can't imagine that happening on the American Wiki for long. I'd be concerned here about vandalism on the article from stupid and immature people. But legitimate information has a right to be there whether favorable or not.

How do you whitewash turning two guys over to be interrogated and tortured?

"We sent them to a day spa."

I'd make a pretty good Minister of Propaganda.

Are you kidding? He's the Pope. They have yellowed books on the best techniques.

Don't be absurd.

Lots of Nazis fled to Argentina after the war.

All who stand in opposition to our Ponyriffic utopia will be politely discredited and then tickled and crushed with hugs. Rainbow Goebbels has spoken.

Not easy. so you just delete the information and pretend it wasn't there... until someone points out that it was.

Welcome to fundamental Catholic country Or rather.... RUN!

Re: The Pope

I called the last Pope "Nazi Pope", so I'll need a new nickname for the new one.

However can we elect a young old white guy next time? This new one is 76, in 5 or so years he will resign / drop dead and I'll have to put up with Pope news all over again.

Pick a nice 55 year old, like the one from Boston, so we won't have to hopefully change Popes for 20-30 years.

But we want to change them. We need to! No matter how middle aged they are they get musty.

It's too bad he didn't pick John as a name so we could have some alliteration. Or if he'd called himself Daniel we could call him Dirty War Dan.

So basically it's more of the same. They didn't take the opportunity to change anything - they basically just hired Ratzinger's back-up dancer.
