I didn't like the "so uncivilized" comment in ROTS either. It was painfully apparent why it was tossed in there, and about as subtle as a brick across the face.

George can often be his own worst enemy.

I think it's cool how they use the same lines over again.

It adds to the overall sense of continuity in the films and really makes The Clone Wars pop.

Well, I don't want to come across as Captain Funsuck, chasing kids off his lawn and taking it all out on clouds.

My main point here was that, when OT Obi-Wan said that, he was in no way alluding specifically to the time of the PT. My dissatisfaction with the PT is really tangential to that.

PT Obi-Wan can be making the same allusion as OT Ben, and disapprove of things having gone downhill, with all these blasters and clones milling about. We're supposed to glean that Obi-Wan pretty much always felt that way, I think.

I agree that that was probably the intent of the line.

I don't think it'd make a lot of sense if you're watching the films for the first time and in chronological order, but it works if you've seen the OT first, or if you're doing the IV-V-I-II-III-VI order (which is my favorite one).

Re: More Star Wars films announced

Just curious: in what order do you guys tend to view the films in the Saga? Do you prefer to watch them chronologically by Episode number, the OT first or do you prefer them from favorite to least favorite even if that means they're no longer in any sort of order?

That's neat, I never considered that. It kinda splits the difference between release order versus chronological, huh. Plus, it ends with full closure, and it has the added benefit of subordinating the PT to the OT. Nice.

I always did release order, but I think I'll try that next time.

I find that: I, IV, II, V, III, VI has a nice flow.

It gives the whole saga a father and son duality very similar to The Godfather Part II.

Re: More Star Wars films announced

I won't lie....most of the time (at least since all six Episodes first became available on disc) I watch them in chronological procession starting with I and wrapping up with VI, but there are occasions when I'm on a very strong OT kick and watch the movies in original production order. IV and V have always been my absolute favorites.

I mostly just skip ahead to the end of the PT where Hayden Christensen gets his limbs hacked off and his torso set on fire.

Preferred order is obviously Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi. And if after that you still need more Star Wars just watch them again.. or play Super Star Wars... or X-Wing... or TIE Fighter... or read those Thrawn books... Heir to the Empire... or whatever... that was pretty good... granted it's been almost 20 years since I read it.

So if these films actually turn out half decent, we bitter nerds of the interwebs deserve credit and praise for redeeming the franchise.
Well, JJ's doing them, so I hope you like your Star Wars with a side of lens-flare and camera-shake.
