The obvious choice really, considering how many people thought he'd be playing the 1st Doctor in 'Dinosaurs On A Spaceship'

Ok, not bad. As a slightly more left field choice, I'd been wondering about Peter Capaldi, given how gaunt he was looking in the last run of The Thick of It (and is about the right age for Hartnell in reality), and that he's a bit of a fan, but this is good too.

This is probably going to feel more like a celebration of the series than whatever the actual anniversary episode turns out to be.

I can see that. The David Warner rumors, though cool, didn't make any sense to me as Warner looks nothing like Hartnell.

David Bradley is a great actor so a good choice. Most of his best work has been on stage - he does tend to play very similar characters on TV & Film.

(I suspect it will. Seems like it may doing more with DW this anniversary year than the BBC itself.)

But it's a documentary movie by BBC. I'd guess a different division behind it or something though.

Interesting choice. From his part in Harry Potter and in Dinosaus on a Spaceship, I can't really pictre him as Hartnell, but, Googling images, I can kinda see it a little

Wouldn't it be interesting if he played Hartnell in the documentary and played the 1st Doctor in the anniversary special? Nice way to tie into itself! But, I'm getting ahead of myself there!
