Now if the Movie WAR HORSE were done--but about the Millenium Falcon instead, as per the novel, an anthology would work.

I can see a Mon Mothma dressed Carrie Fisher and an older Harrison Ford as parents grieving the loss of Jacen Solo after the fall, and handing off the Falcon to their daughter at the last.

And to about 99% of the potential worldwide audience for the film, I'd wager.

Yeah, I got the Jacen Solo reference but everything else....no clue how it's supposed to tie in.

Mon Mothma was a rebel leader in one of the films.

Oh, I got the Mon Mothma reference too. Heck, I own her action figures.

A little late to the party but I for one am excited for Abrams Star Wars.

Finally something new after 10 years of non stop clone wars. Here's hoping for a return to classic Star Wars.

At least people like Berman and Braga got scripts done on time and never delayed release dates.
They should have taken MORE time on the idiotic scripts and gotten them into more entertaining shape than what we saw on screen.

You don't have that option in TV, of course.

In case I confused anyone, what I meant was having the Falcon but with different crew over time--an anthology.

Different Doctors, same Tardis

Do for the Falcon what Spielberg did for ponies in War Horse, that kind of thing--make the Falcon seem even more mythic.

Carrie would look best in Mothma's Moo-moo anyway...

I was just thinking today about Harrison Ford being in Abrams' new Star Wars film...

...Do you think Callista Flockhart could play Han's daughter?

Star Wars with lens flares. I am curious how it will look like.

There are already some jokes about it.

Princess Leia returns.

And in far less likely news, The Daily Fail reports that a battle scene will be filmed behind a shopping centre in Kent. From the same people who quoted Youtube comments in an article as proof that Cumberbatch is playing Khan in Into Darkness.

Re: Abrams Directing Star Wars

Though no surprise whatsoever, the Fisher story is welcome news. I mean, almost everybody with a pulse figured that the original Big Three (or at least Hamill and Fisher) would sign on to the new Trilogy but it's nice to see that the chess pieces are slowly coming together on the big board.

The real interest and questions will come when we get word of supporting actors and actresses. The original Trilogy didn't really feature many top-list actors aside from Guinness and Cushing (Ian McDiarmid hadn't yet achieved Epic status at the time Jedi was filmed)....it'll be interesting to see if the producers can nail down any A-list talent for the new films without taking focus and attention away from the classic and central characters.
