Re: My father died today

My father had Parkinson's as well. He was in a care facility for about 4 months located a 6 hour drive away. I was lucky that I happened to make a trip and visited him when I did, because he passed 3 days later. That 12.5 years ago. So I have inkling of what you're going through.

I'm so sorry Candlelight. Remember to take care of yourself at this time. It is really easy to let yourself go as you concentrate on those around you.

Warm Wishes to you and your family.

Deepest sympathies Candlelight.

It's been over five years since my own dad passed away and let me tell you, that saying that time is a healer is wrong. All time does is throw the distractions of life in your way.
Before all of this I was your typical stoic tough-guy,or so I thought. When my dad died I cried like a child and now whenever I hear a sad(or indeed an uplifting)news story,I'm off, waterworks at the drop of a hat.
And perhaps that's no bad thing.

My condolences, Candlelight. My father also died of lung-related problems, about six months ago.

I'm very sorry for your loss. It seems especially cruel to lose a close family member close to the holidays. You really don't get over it; you just have to get through it.

So very, very sorry for your loss. It's coming up on...gosh, six(!) years since Dad died. I miss him terribly.

Best wishes to you.
